One Among The Millions

? I have been so distracted the past few weeks. I have had these thoughts sitting in my to do list for a while. But what better time than now for a mid week reminder…?

God has a deep love for each and every one of us. Sometimes for us, that concept is very difficult to comprehend. And that is because as a human being, with feelings, we are driven by emotions and experiences. And it’s through emotions and our experience of people that we usually end up limiting our circles. We end up limiting who has access to us and how many we actually deeply unconditionally love, to just a selected few.

So a concept of having an unconditional love for every single person out there seems incomprehensible to us. And that is understandable because how can you love a stranger you don’t know. How do you truly unconditionally love a person who hurts you, uses you, gossips about you, over and over again?

And yes, I do realise that God calls us to have a Spirit of forgiveness. And we cannot harbour unforgiveness towards those who hurt us. But I myself will have trouble with showing an unconditional love. Especially the type of love that God has towards us, towards just about anyone out there.

The truth is that unlike us, God makes room for you, no matter what. He goes out of His way to save the one. God is not concerned about your past, what you did or didn’t do. All God wants is you. God shows love for the one among the millions.

Imagine, God is not satisfied with the number of people who have been saved. Because what He wants is ALL of us saved. He does not want to leave a single one back. If you have turned away, fallen back or lost any or all hope. Today is a good day to find your way back, cos there’s certainly room for you.

Don’t believe me? Read Matthew 18:12-14

“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.”
