Christmas is my favourite time of the year, and even though this Christmas feels different, is out of our normal and will not have the usual festivities. Remember that the message of Christmas is still the same. A message of love peace and hope. The message that Christ was born so that we could have life everlasting.
I don’t know about you, but I feel many are overshadowed by the heaviness of disappointment. And I want to say to you, don’t let the weight of the world get you down today. Christ is on the throne, the battle has already been won! You have breath in your lungs so shout out, rejoice and declare the name of the Lord.
I have previously put together a Christmas playlist of my favourite songs, and I feel that this year this list will help to remind you and your family who Christmas is really about. And even though some are ill, some are away from loved ones some are alone and some are mourning, the message of Christ’s birth still needs to be remembered and celebrated.
Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: “The Lord ’s right hand has done mighty things! The Lord ’s right hand is lifted high; the Lord ’s right hand has done mighty things!” I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done. The Lord has chastened me severely, but he has not given me over to death. Open for me the gates of the righteous; I will enter and give thanks to the Lord . This is the gate of the Lord through which the righteous may enter. I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation. The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes. The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.Psalms 118:15-24 NIVPsalms 118: 15-24 NIV
