The true depth of the Love that Christ has for us, is one of the most difficult promises to understand. This kind of understanding can only be revealed to us through prayer. It is a revelation because our carnal minds could never unravel the kind of mind that could forgive the unforgivable. To be able overlook the hurt and pain that are caused by the selfish nature of people comes only through prayer and a deep revelation from God.
I don’t know about you but when I think of the kind of Love that surpasses our understanding; I think of Jesus. How on Earth did He, knowing full well that Judas betrayed Him bent down to wash his feet. Yet alone sit down and have a meal together with him?
We get offended by the simplest of acts. A negative word spoken against us or even worse, not being greeted in the street. We are so fickle and mindless that a few words could send us off the edge. But Jesus, knowing that 30 pieces of silver was already paid for his life, bent down and washed the feet of the one who betrayed Him. That is a Love beyond Understanding…
